The Ontario Developmental Services Career Connections Grant

The government of Ontario is creating opportunities for students to develop the clinical skills they need to be professionals in the field of developmental services in Ontario.

Starting in 2005/06, the Ontario Developmental Services Career Connections Grant will support up to 20 college and university students a year in a variety of health fields in the practicum component of their degree/diploma. The grant program gives students the opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience in a community agency that provides leading-edge, specialized supports to individuals with a developmental disability.

Field placements are available at more than 20 community agencies across Ontario that provide specialized clinical care for adults with a developmental disability.

Grants are available to support students in a variety of field placements. The funding amount will be based on the total number of supervised hours spent in an approved clinical setting.

In addition, a travel allowance is available to assist students with eligible travel expenses.
